HORTICULTURAL YOUTH INSPIRES WITH TOP SPEAKERS IN ENERGY-NEUTRAL VB BUILDING
26-09-2023On September 25, 2023, Horticultural Youth Oostland (TJO) and Horticultural Youth Westland (TJW) successfully organized an inspiring information evening in the modern, energy-neutral building of VB in Naaldwijk. With over 120 young people in attendance, TJ continued its mission to connect young people between the ages of 18 and 35 with the dynamic world of the horticulture sector.
TJ aims to connect young talents with leading companies in horticulture and familiarize them with the diverse aspects of this fascinating industry. This evening provided young people with the opportunity to learn from and be inspired by some of the most influential speakers in the sector.
The list of speakers for the evening included Angelo Vermeulen from TU Delft, a prominent figure in horticultural innovation. Edward Verbakel, CEO of VB, shared his vision on sustainability and the role of technology in the horticulture sector. Bas Rensen from Best Fresh Group provided insight into the challenges and opportunities in the international vegetable and fruit market. The evening concluded with Aad van der Knaap from KP Holland, who shared his experiences in leading a leading horticultural company.
The annual top speakers' evening is a highlight in TJ's program, where both top speakers from outside the sector and guest speakers from the horticulture sector are invited to inspire young people and encourage innovative thinking. The evening at the VB building highlighted not only the opportunities and challenges in horticulture but also the importance of sustainability and energy efficiency.
"TJ is proud to provide a platform where young talents have the opportunity to learn from leading experts in the horticulture sector," said Jurrian van den Beukel, Chairman of Horticultural Youth Westland. "This evening at VB in Naaldwijk has inspired and motivated young people to contribute to the future of our industry."
TJ remains committed to engaging and inspiring young people in the horticulture sector and will continue to collaborate with leading companies and speakers to achieve this.
