Project Application
Together with specialist partners, VB's Horti Division was commissioned to build a complete 3-hectare turn-key greenhouse for a deep-float lettuce system. VB was the main contractor for this project.
Challenge and approach
VB integrated a unique active cooling system, which allows the greenhouse temperature to remain cool not only in winter with outside air, but also in summer. Some info about Revol Greens and and the challenges of this project: 27 different 12-metre trusses were delivered for various installations.Due to the slope in the steel substructure, 54 different indoor (strut) columns were supplied, mainly because lettuce plants float in basins at Revol Greens. The walls of these basins also serve as foundations for the greenhouse. Because a slope was used for the steel substructure, the foundation of the water basins could be poured level.
