VB Installs Climate System for TAS Paprika
29-04-2025VB is installing an innovative climate control system for TAS Paprika. This system ensures an optimal and energy-efficient climate in the greenhouses and company facilities, which is essential for successful cultivation.
Large-scale project, smart technology
The project comprises two greenhouse sections of 11 hectares each, a corridor of 1,600 m², a company facility of 7,900 m², and a water technology area of 1,600 m². In total, the heated surface area covers 22 hectares.
Work is currently in full swing. The underground piping has been installed and the distribution pipes are being placed. In week 18, installation of the 51 heating pipes will begin. Work is currently underway in greenhouse 2, followed by greenhouse 1.
This project is part of a broader expansion of TAS Paprika, for which our Atrium Agri partner Havecon is responsible for building the greenhouses, and Voorwinden Groep is handling the greenhouse construction and finishing. The close collaboration between all parties underscores the shared vision for high-quality greenhouse technology.
Efficient heating and preparing for the future
For heat supply, two buffer tanks of 9,500 m³ each are being installed, along with two CHP (combined heat and power) units. In addition, through a connecting pipe between the existing greenhouse and the new construction, the project will also be supplied with geothermal heat from Aardwarmte Combinatie Luttelgeest (ACL), a geothermal source developed by plant nursery Bernhard Groep and bell pepper grower TAS Paprika. The geothermal heat is extracted from a depth of around 1,800 meters and contributes to a sustainable energy supply.
With a total of 503 kilometers of pipe rail in this project, VB is covering an impressive distance. To put that into perspective: that’s roughly the distance from Amsterdam to Paris, or from Utrecht to Frankfurt!
Future-focused collaboration
Together, we are building a future-proof greenhouse where efficiency and sustainability take center stage. VB looks forward to a successful completion and delivery.
